EMDR Individual & Group Supervision
Dr Áine Lombard provides online individual and group EMDR supervision and mentoring for psychologists, psychotherapists, counsellors and other appropriately trained mental health professionals.
EMDR supervision offers a collaborative and reflective space for practitioners to develop their clinical confidence, deepen their understanding of the EMDR model and strengthen their therapeutic skills when working with trauma and complex presentations.
Áine is an EMDR Europe Accredited Practitioner and EMDR Consultant in Training, currently completing her specialist training towards EMDR Europe Consultant accreditation.
Her approach is supportive, thoughtful and clinically informed, with supervision tailored to each practitioner's experience, professional background and developmental needs.
Individual EMDR Supervision
Individual EMDR supervision provides a dedicated one-to-one space to explore clinical work, consider challenges and develop confidence in applying EMDR within therapeutic practice.
Sessions are tailored to the practitioner's level of training, clinical experience and individual learning needs. Supervision may support practitioners who are newly trained in EMDR as well as those developing their practice with more complex presentations.
Areas for discussion may include:
- EMDR case conceptualisation and treatment planning
- Applying the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model
- Developing confidence with the eight phases of EMDR
- Preparation, stabilisation and readiness for processing
- Working with complex trauma, attachment difficulties and dissociation
- Understanding and navigating challenges during EMDR processing
- Reflecting on the therapeutic relationship and clinical decision-making
- Strengthening professional confidence and reflective practice
Individual supervision can be arranged on a regular basis or according to professional development needs.
Group EMDR Supervision
Group EMDR supervision offers a supportive and collaborative environment where practitioners can reflect on their clinical work, explore different perspectives and learn from shared professional experiences.
Small facilitated groups provide opportunities for clinical discussion, shared learning and the development of confidence and competence in EMDR practice.
Group supervision may include:
- Shared case discussion and EMDR case conceptualisation
- Exploring treatment planning and clinical decision-making
- Reflecting on challenges arising during EMDR processing
- Considering different approaches to complex clinical presentations
- Developing understanding of the EMDR model through collaborative reflection
- Learning from the experiences and perspectives of other EMDR practitioners
- Supporting ongoing professional development and reflective practice
Groups aim to provide a safe, respectful and professionally supportive space in which practitioners can share learning and develop their clinical practice.
Group supervision is available to appropriately trained EMDR practitioners. Please enquire about group availability, arrangements and fees.
EMDR Mentoring & Consultant Training
Áine is an EMDR Europe Accredited Practitioner and EMDR Consultant in Training and participates in the EMDR All-Ireland Consultants-in-Training (CIT) Mentoring Scheme.
As part of her ongoing consultant training, Áine offers EMDR mentoring supervision to practitioners seeking to develop their clinical skills, confidence and competence in EMDR practice.
The CIT Mentoring Scheme provides opportunities for eligible EMDR practitioners to receive mentoring from participating Consultants in Training while supporting the professional development of future EMDR Consultants.
Eligible mentoring hours may contribute towards EMDR accreditation supervision requirements, subject to the current criteria and limitations of the EMDR All-Ireland scheme.
Practitioners seeking EMDR accreditation are encouraged to clarify their individual supervision requirements before arranging mentoring, as Áine is currently a Consultant in Training rather than an EMDR Europe Accredited Consultant.
